Optometric Technicians

Daniel, Mekenzie, and Jenny assist Dr. Perry, Dr. Andreasen, and Dr. Edwards during the vision examination process.

Pre-testing consists of measuring visual acuity with and without correction. Visual field testing measures the sensitivity of the retina. A lack of sensitivity can indicate diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. An auto refractor and auto keratometer then estimates your distance refractive error and measures the shape of the cornea. Non-contact tonometry measures the internal pressure of the eye, a screening test for glaucoma. Panoramic retinal photography from our Optos imaging system is available for patients at this time as well.

All of our assistants also help patients with contact lens training and care and with frame selection. All three assistants are warm and caring individuals who make your vision exam a pleasant experience.
